Money saving tips from Yahoo! Shine and Anderson Cooper

Yahoo! Shine was featured on Anderson Cooper's daytime talk show, "Anderson," today, as I doled out a few money-saving tips. You can watch the clip on Yahoo! Shine, find out more about the "Easy Money Hour" episode of "Anderson," and read my tips right here at WriteEditRepeat:
On using coupons:

One of our favorite tips for saving money is to use coupons wisely. You don't need to spend hours sorting, clipping, and filing each week, and you don't need to try to feed your family for pennies on the dollar. Keep an eye out for coupons for products you usually use, and keep an eye out for sales at your local store, and match the two up to maximize your savings.

On taxes:
It's tax time, and if you're still working on yours -- or, if you're like the millions of people who haven't touched theirs yet -- there's still time to try to maximize your return. You can contribute to your 2011 Roth IRA right up until tax day and still have it help last year's return, and if you're looking ahead, don't forget that donating clothes, books, and household goods to charity can count as a tax write off. As always, double check with your tax advisor, but for other tips on what to do -- and what to avoid -- visit us at Shine.yahoo.com/financially-fit.

On finding bargains online:
We love a good bargain, and there's a treasure trove of them online. Searching through them all can be overwhelming though, so let the experts help you hunt: Websites keep track of coupon codes for you, and smartphone apps make things even easier. And Shine's fashion and beauty editor features great fashion finds and flash sale items each week at Shine.yahoo.com/fashion.
