My Preschooler Is a Working Mom in Training

Aside from maternity leave -- during which I was still churning out freelance stories -- my kids have never known me to be an at-home-only mom. So it really wasn't much of a surprise when my 3-year-old started trying to use "I have to work" as an excuse to avoid bedtime. What was a surprise, to me, was how it made me feel -- at least initially:
